Hello, The September ITU-T SG16 Questions 2, 3, 5, 12, 21 and 22/16 Rapporteur's meeting is rapidly approaching. I will soon (this week) be asking the Study Group 16 management for approval to hold the meeting. One of the inputs into the decision is the number of intended participants and another is the number of contributions. We need to have sufficient numbers to make the meeting worthwhile. If you haven't already registered your interest in attending the meeting can you please ASAP please send an e-mail to Christian Groves <Christian.Groves(a)nteczone.com>, providing the family name, given name, company name, and e-mail address of person(s) attending. Please also include which questions you have an interest in. Can you please also indicate how many contributions you intend on submitting and to which question? To all I am pleased to announce the venue and the meeting arrangements have been finalized. Brisbane Australia 24-28th September 2012 The location is Queensland University of Technology Kelvin Grove Campus Building E Rooms 305-306 The location is not the city campus as I briefly discussed with people in Geneva but the kelvin grove campus (5 min bus ride from the City on a dedicated bus way) Getting to Brisbane Suggest you get an International flight direct into Brisbane. It saves time as the international Airport is smaller and immigration and customs clearance is easier than in Sydney or Melbourne. There are direct flights from Singapore, Korea, Japan, China and the US. There are 2 flights a day from LA (Qantas and Virgin Australia) and 1 from Dallas/FortWorth (Qantas) . Dear colleagues, Relaying a message from ITU-T's Interop team. Following the success of the 1st IPTV Application Challenge<http://www.itu.int/en/ITU-T/challenges/201110/Pages/iptv.aspx>, ITU is planning to launch its 2nd IPTV Application Challenge (http://www.itu.int/en/ITU-T/challenges/Pages/cfi.aspx ). The Challenge will aim at discovering innovative IPTV applications, and expanding the range of the broad IPTV ecosystem. An awards ceremony, as well as a showcasing of the most promising apps, are planned during WTSA-12<http://www.itu.int/en/ITU-T/wtsa-12/Pages/default.aspx> in Dubai, November 2012 (http://www.itu.int/en/ITU-T/wtsa-12/Pages/default.aspx ). The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly is ITU-T's highest decision making organ, meets every four years and is likely to attract 1000 senior representatives from ITU Member States and Sector Members. As demonstrated in the 1st IPTV Application Challenge<http://www.itu.int/en/ITU-T/challenges/201110/Pages/iptv.aspx>, the Challenge will present a significant marketing opportunity for potential sponsors to make their profile visible to a high-level audience. Also, the Platinum sponsors (contributing USD 10,000) will be given a non-exclusive, one-year, world-wide, royalty-free license to use the submitted applications and videos for promotion, public display, informational, educational or awareness purposes. WP2/16 Experts, As we have historically done, I would like to request that you make any contributions available for the SG16 meeting also available on the AVC site in the meeting directory that I have created: http://ftp3.itu.int/av-arch/avc-site/2009-2012/1204_Gen/ Also, I just realized that we did not make either input or output documents available for the last SG16 meeting in November 2011. If you have documents (input or output) for that meeting that you would like to post, please send them to me. As usual, this request is entirely voluntary, but I would hope you would make your documents available for the benefit of those who do not otherwise have access to documents and to continue to build upon the historical AVC archive.
