Hi All. Here's my 5c worth. I used Clonezilla to make a clone of the OpenMCU.ru virtual machine and then restored it onto a physical server. This proved to be better than running it virtually (I guess physical resources gave it more oomph). I was able to get video mixing to work ok, even up to 4CIF, but audio was was always broken. I remember having to delete their compiled version of G.722 to make it fall back to G.711, but that was also broken. I was using a combination of Radvision, Aethra, Polycom PVX and Spranto for the tests. I'd say look at their audio codecs for issues. I am sure it will work 100% with some dedication. I gave up after a while, I was seeing Russian code in my dreams ....and I am English speaking... Hope this helps in some way. I downloaded this virtual machine from the russian openmcu fork (http://openmcu.ru) and got surprised with the results. I sucessfully tested video-conference features with Ekiga and NetMeeting software clients. Can anyone test this with real endpoint cameras ? H323plus - no audio is being transmitted

Hi Simon and all, I've noticed a recent with the latest trunk of H323plus that i'm not able to transmit any sound using the simpleplus application that comes with it. Wen i make calls to or receive calls from myphone2 or the lite version of spranto, I can hear incoming audio but the simpleplus doesn't seem to be transmitting any sound regardless of which machine i've tried on (All windows 7 / Vista). I tried debugging a little to determine the cause but so far no luck. I've also had issues compiling the code due to unresolved external errors coming from the h460p.cxx but have not really looked much into it and for it to work I had to disable H323_H460P. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Josh

The second, minor problem, is the "#define PTLIB_SVN_REVISION SVN_REVISION" which fails when zapping the include, we zap this too and it works. I think BOTH lines should be deleted, they seem like some kind of testing stuff. If we do it after installing every h323plus code we compile builds without any problem. Francisco Olarte.

Hi Simon, thanks for answering again. I'm really interested in being able to add H.264 in the capability set without having to link the library with FFMPEG/X264, but I couldn't understand what you explained. I searched on the internet and found this: http://www.voxgratia.org/docs/codec_plugins.html that I believe is related to what you explained but even with this page I couldn't realize what I have to do. Is it possible to configure the plugin that comes with the source in this way? I mean, use the plugin in h323plus/plugin/video/H.264 for only signaling, without have to link with FFMPEG/X264. Another question is again about the capabilities. You said that I can remove the capabilities that aren't supported by the SIP endpoint. But this way, I will have to add all possible capabilities to my gateway and them remove the ones that SIP doesn't support. It would be much easier if my gateway could start without any capabilities and then I add the ones that SIP supports. Is that possible? If not, I will have to do what you explained but when I will add all the capabilities again to be ready to handle the next call? Diego The plugins load default capability instances into the H323Endpoint. When the H323Connection is created these capabilities are cloned In H323Connection::OnSetLocalCapabilities() Simply remove the unmatched capabilities localCapabilities.Remove("H.264*"); The H323_ExternalRTPChannel does not handle RTP but can be used to not use the internal RTP system. You can have your own external RTP stack or not have one at all. You needed to read and populate H245_H2250LogicalChannelParameters in the send and receive message of the class with those of the SIP Client. I do have serious doubts what you are planning will work not because it can't technically work but because of the differences in H.323 and SIP with Video. H.323 is very strict on rules while SIP is very loose on interpretations. Here are the problems 1. RTP packetization H.323 says strictly single NAL SIP is undefined 2 options (Single NAL/Fragmented units) . You will get video on the H.323 side just fine but your SIP side with some devices may not be able to decode. 2. Payload Type for H.264 is specified as being flexible but a lot of SIP implementations have them fixed (usually 96 or 97) so H.323 requests 103 SIP always ends 97 no video on the H.323 side. First of all, I believe that the stack can be used to build a gateway but it seems that it's more focused on terminals. Am I right? So is it possible or not to build a gateway using it? Second, there is no native support for H264. The documentation shows the class hierarchy. Minor issues with upnp

Hi all, If i may first note, I've compiled the latest h323plus with no problem, but when i go to compile the simpleplus program, it gives an unresolved error for H46019UDPSocket::GetPeerAddress(...). This happens because H323_H46024A and H323_H46024B are disabled and GetPeerAddress is defined within H323_H46024A but declared within H323_H46019M. I did a minor work around and it now compiles fine. Another issue I came upon, when I initialize UPNP during the h323 initialization, during the UPnPThread::TestMapping() function call, it manages to map both ports (11000 and 11001) but after calling RemoveMap(extPort,true); and RemoveMap(extPort+1,true), only 11001 is removed and not 11000. I tested this with different port range and it produces the same results (one unmapped and not the other). Is this supposed to be the case or is something wrong somewhere? Although, after closing the program, both ports are unmapped successfully. But another problem that happens every time I close the program is a memory access violation at; ~IxNATNumberOfEntriesCallback() { delete m_pointer; } from interface IxNATNumberOfEntriesCallback : public INATNumberOfEntriesCallback Any reason why this could be the case? Lastly, when upnp is initialized, making a call doesn't seem to open and map the ports at all. What else should be done aside from initializing upnp? Your help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Josh
