Ptlib unix assert patch

I tried to compile ptlib 2.0.1 on Ubuntu 7.10 and 8.0.4 but got compile errors. Attached a patch to make it compile. Is this really the stable version? Best regards, Nir Soffer

Ptlib unix config permissions patch

I found 2 related bugs in Ptlib unix. 1. PFile::SetPermission ignore group and other read permission in the permission parameter When you call SetPermission(path, 0600), the function apply instead 0644. The patch fix the issue by not adding group and other read permission if not set by the caller. 2. PXConfig::WriteToFile change config file owner, group and permissions The function try to perform atomic write by writing to a ".new" file, then renaming the ".new" file to the old file. The new file is created with the current user and group, using the default hardcoded permissions. The patch fix the permissions change by copying the permissions from the old file. The patch does not fix the user and group change.

Master/Slave and SessionIDs

Hi, I am trying to get the h224/h281 data channel to work with Tandberg equipment and ran into some problems. It turns out this has to do with sessionId's. The current implementation lets the connection/endpoint create an h281handler which will handle both in- and outgoing h224 RTP. The problem is that my H323Endpoint will usually begin with opening the logical channel and assigns DefaultH224SessionID = 4 as sessionID. Later on the Tandberg endpoint wants to open a channel but then with sessionId 3! This results in the construction of a new RTP_Session which will never be used (cause the h281handler is allready constructed and has its RTP_Session set). Can anybody tell me what the "right" way would be to solve this problem? Should the incoming and outgoing h224 channels have the same sessionID? My current solution is to change DefaultH224SessionID to 3 but this will probably result into problems when more data channels need to be openend... Thanks, Niek

Problem transmitting different image sizes

Hi I have developed an application using H323Plus Library which allows a user to change to different codecs(H.261 & H.263) or different Image Sizes(QCIF, CIF, 4CIF & 16CIF) before making a call. Though, all the combinations(minus 16CIF) used to work well with OpenH323. The application somehow shows an unpredictable behaviour with H323Plus. By the term unpredictable I mean that using same code, same settings and same plugins, while one machine loads H.261 codec the other loads H.263. Sometimes the application would not even send the data to remote site(showing the frame rate of 0, probably coz of wrong negotiation or so). How can we put H.263 priority above H.261 for codec selection. We are using same code both sides but codec negotiation are different.We are using Reorder API of H323plus api. We have been investigating it thoroughly from past few days but in vain. So Please if anybody can throw light on this, it would be of great help. Thanks

Grouping frames

Hi All, Nice to begin here. Some years ago, i saw a software called CallGen to make calls using the h323 protocol with the possibility of grouping frames if using the G.711 codecs. The CallGen323 was compiled over the openh323 library and I've been informed that grouping was provided by the openh323. My doubts are: The grouping frame feature is still working nowadays ? If yes, only the G.711 vocoder is accepted by the feature ?? Lots of thanks. JL

Codec Selection in H.239 Extended Video channel

Hi everyone I was trying to make a call using H.261 codec and then I opened ExtendedVideoSession. The session opens and closes immediately. I guess it is because the call was established using H.261 codec so it returns from the library, Does anyone have any idea about these. >>Is H.261 plug in supporting extended session or not? >> Does Extended session use the same codec as selected for main video channel or it can use a different codec.
