Thank you. Some H.323 endpoint use in-band signalings method such as NetMeeting, while other endpoint such as Polycom PVX use rfc2833 to transfer DTMF. But I don't know how get DTMF info from PVX's audio RTP packets. The code rfc2833.cxx in h323plus seems can not work with PVX. Simon, Robert I am not using H323Connection::OnSendCapabilitySet() Robert, As you suggested I go through my code many times and have taken great care of pointers. I tried to debug the library and I find the reason for PTlib crash. Ptlib unix config permissions patch

I found 2 related bugs in Ptlib unix. 1. PFile::SetPermission ignore group and other read permission in the permission parameter When you call SetPermission(path, 0600), the function apply instead 0644. The patch fix the issue by not adding group and other read permission if not set by the caller. 2. PXConfig::WriteToFile change config file owner, group and permissions The function try to perform atomic write by writing to a ".new" file, then renaming the ".new" file to the old file. The new file is created with the current user and group, using the default hardcoded permissions. The patch fix the permissions change by copying the permissions from the old file. The patch does not fix the user and group change.

Master/Slave and SessionIDs

Hi, I am trying to get the h224/h281 data channel to work with Tandberg equipment and ran into some problems. It turns out this has to do with sessionId's. The current implementation lets the connection/endpoint create an h281handler which will handle both in- and outgoing h224 RTP. The problem is that my H323Endpoint will usually begin with opening the logical channel and assigns DefaultH224SessionID = 4 as sessionID. Later on the Tandberg endpoint wants to open a channel but then with sessionId 3! This results in the construction of a new RTP_Session which will never be used (cause the h281handler is allready constructed and has its RTP_Session set). Can anybody tell me what the "right" way would be to solve this problem? Should the incoming and outgoing h224 channels have the same sessionID? My current solution is to change DefaultH224SessionID to 3 but this will probably result into problems when more data channels need to be openend... Thanks, Niek

Problem transmitting different image sizes

Hi I have developed an application using H323Plus Library which allows a user to change to different codecs(H.261 & H.263) or different Image Sizes(QCIF, CIF, 4CIF & 16CIF) before making a call. Though, all the combinations(minus 16CIF) used to work well with OpenH323. The application somehow shows an unpredictable behaviour with H323Plus. By the term unpredictable I mean that using same code, same settings and same plugins, while one machine loads H.261 codec the other loads H.263. Sometimes the application would not even send the data to remote site(showing the frame rate of 0, probably coz of wrong negotiation or so). How can we put H.263 priority above H.261 for codec selection. We are using same code both sides but codec negotiation are different.We are using Reorder API of H323plus api. We have been investigating it thoroughly from past few days but in vain. So Please if anybody can throw light on this, it would be of great help. Thanks

Grouping frames

Hi All, Nice to begin here. Some years ago, i saw a software called CallGen to make calls using the h323 protocol with the possibility of grouping frames if using the G.711 codecs. The CallGen323 was compiled over the openh323 library and I've been informed that grouping was provided by the openh323. My doubts are: The grouping frame feature is still working nowadays ? If yes, only the G.711 vocoder is accepted by the feature ?? Lots of thanks. JL

Hi everyone I was trying to make a call using H.261 codec and then I opened ExtendedVideoSession. The session opens and closes immediately. I guess it is because the call was established using H.261 codec so it returns from the library, Does anyone have any idea about these. >>Is H.261 plug in supporting extended session or not? >> Does Extended session use the same codec as selected for main video channel or it can use a different codec. Codecs plugin problem

Hi there. Currently i'm trying to make an ActiveX wrapper for h323plus. The problem is: it cannot load any codec dlls. I've set path direcories, put codecs in the same dir as activeX etc. Nothing works. So maybe anyone has the same issue and solved it? Ptlib build for windows mobile

Hi, all I have downloaded a copy of ptlib-v2_0_1-src.zip, and open the solution ptlib_2005.sln in visual studio 2005. I managed to build successfully with Win32 configuration. However the build is skipped when I changed Windows Mobile 5 or Windows Mobile 6 configuration. Is there any chance that any of us know the solution for this problem? Question about H.460.18 in CVS repository

how to switch a point-to-point conference to multi-party conference

Hi What is the standard way to switch a point-to-point conference to multi-party conference? (The condition is that the codec used in multi-party conference is not same as that in point-to-point call, for example, when in p2p call the endpoint communicate using H.264, and in multi-party confernce they use H.263 codec ) The SONY PCS endpoint's method is that the ep close all logical channels and re-issue capability, then re-open logical channel. Problem connecting with Polycom VSX 7000

Hi Has anyone ever tried t connect to Polycom VSX 7000 using H323+. I am trying to do it with both H.261 and H.263. It works fine with H.261 but with H.263 no image is displayed on Polycom side. The call statistics of Polycom show frame rate of 25 but video is blank. i guess there might be some problem with H.263 plugin. Polycom and my machine are on the same LAN. Does anyone have any idea about this problem? please help.

How to know about the remote sides H.239 capabilities?

Hi Does anyone have any idea about how to know whether the remote side with which connection has been established supports H.239 or not. R Right now I try to open an extended session and check its return value. Is there any call in H323Plus which returns the H.239 capability status of remote side.Since we have already exchanged the capabilities, this information must be available somewhere. Please help!!

Message waiting indications(MWI) for Voicemail messages

Hi all , I have a requirement to support MWI in my device, which has support to both SIP and H.323. I see that there is H.450.7 Supplementary Service for that in H.323. But i am not sure practically it is being used in normal deployments. I am trying to find if Asterisk or any other opensource PBX support it.From my analysis i see that Asterisk does have support to MWI for SIP . But could not find out how is the notification done for H.323. Does anybody here have any idea how is it done for H.323 endpoints ? What is the normal means/procedure by which an IP-PBX provides MWI for Voicemail messages to the H.323 endpoints ? Awaiting an earliest positive response . Thanks & Regards, Anisha

Hi , I need an opens source or freeware server that can provide Voice Mail ,Conferencing and Mobility functionalities to H.323 and a SIP endpoints. Your support solved my problem, now I can use t38modem 1.0.1 with H323. Thanks. Where can I get support for T38Modem to make it work with OPAL ? I DL "cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@openh323.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/openh323 co -D "5/21/2007 23:59:59" opal" but with no positive result... I can run configure only with: ./configure --disable-versioncheck --enable-localspeex After I get a binary, t38modem it's looking for lib pwlib 1.12... with now is 2.0.1 :) Renameing 2.0.1 lib to 1.12, won't help... Hi , I want to know if the H323Plus code, has support for H.264 Plug-in ? Are there any sample code or application avaiable for the same. We need to have a videoconferencing application with H.264 support. Is it possible to use H323Plus for the same and what amount of implementations will be required for it. Hello ! I try to build, t38modem from version 8.x.x since half a year, with no positive result, also from the svn... :( Now I see you have realese version 1.0.1, but still there is NO documentation for this... :( I presume there is need for: - PWLIB or PTLIB - version ? link to DL ? - OpenH323 or H323Plus - version ? link to DL ? - Opal (yes I need SIP !) - version ? link to DL ? and of course t38modem 1.0.1 My system is: Slackware 11, kernel 2.6.24.3 Thank you.

T38Modem support now in H323plus

Guys Just a quick note T38modem has been added to the list of open source applications supported with h323plus. Special thanks to Tamas for testing and providing his support for the application. You will need the latest patch ptlib 2.0.1-3 for Linux and h323plus v1.20 to ensure it runs stable. You can download the source code from the h323plus website. Simon Note: This project is still officially being developed with Opal however Tamas has offered to maintain the existing OpenH323 (now H323plus) version.

Using codec plugins

Hello, I think that the Simple h323 program should support all codecs provided in h323plus because "AddAllCapabilities" is used. However, it seems that G723 is not supported in h323plus 1.20.1 by default, only g711. Consecqunelty, only g711 can be used by the Simple program. I know that now codec plugins should be used.I have the plugins from h323plus.org ready. Any guide how to build h323plus to support ACM G723 codec? Versions used: PTLib 2.0.1, h323plus 1.20.1, simple H323 1.20.0. Regards, Zarko

Problem Sending Video to Polycom VSX7000

Hi I am trying to connect my video conferencing application to Polycom VSX7000. I am able to receive video but no video is received on Polycom side. I checked the GetFrameData function which is used to copy RGB data in H323 buffer. It is being called in normal way but somehow video is not transmitted to Polycom side. Has anyone tested H323+ library with VSX7000. Please help. I have attached the trace file.

VC++ express ed. build problem

Hello Friends, Anybody managed to build ptlib/h323plus on Visual C++ 2008 express edition? I get file not found error for atlbase.h included at ptts.cxx when triing to compile ptlib. I used MSVC6 so far without problem, I never tried to compile ptlib/h323plus on VC express editions, but the problem maybe is that express editions do not support ATL. Any solution to this? I used the latest source code from h323plus.org - h323plus 1.20.1 & PTLib 2.0.1, followed the instructions by voxgratia and loaded ptlib.sln into Visual studio. Regards, Zarko

Hi I have a sample application which supports QCIf, CIF and 4CIF. I have used it with the stable version of OpenMCU 2.2.3 which worked fine for CIF and QCIF. For 4CIF, I've downloaded the latest code from CVS. And as you have mentioned about altering the frameSize variable in the constructor of the OpenMCU class , I've done the requisite. OpenMCU::OpenMCU() : OpenMCUProcessAncestor(ProductInfo) { endpoint = NULL; #if OPENMCU_VIDEO frameSize = H323Capability::cif4MPI; #endif } But with this change, OpenMCU crashes as soon as the invitation for conferencing is sent out. Hi, One of the emerging standards that attracts me is H.presence - and I see from the 1.20.2 distribution of h323plus that the recent draft of AVD-3293 is included. However, whilst the code stubs are built by the parser, those stubs don't appear to be included when building the h323plus library. Adding their inclusion to src/Makefile in the H323_H460 section and rebuilding fails with what appear to be fundamental errors (copied at http://pastebin.ca/911251) Have I missed something obvious? I'm trying to build in an Ubuntu 7.10 environment with g++ 4.1.3. Also, I note that the stubs present in CVS under /extensions/h460/h460.presence are different from those bundled in h323lib-proper. Is there some magic documented somewhere that would enable me to build the testapp under the extensions tree? Sorry if this is all a bit "n00b"-like -- I'm new to h323plus. Feel free to kick me towards a readme somewhere that I most likely have missed! After looking in our beloved (hated by others) Wikipedia, in the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_Performance_Library, I found that the AMD contributed to an open source version of the library, based on Apache License v2. So, for ones that *need* of an open source code (or want to learns about CPU intrinsics) instead of free use but closed souce (APL) see and contribute to the project http://framewave.sourceforge.net. I'll continue to port ptlib colours conversions and the h.323 video codecs to the APL version. After this I'll see if make the same to the Framewave version. PS.: I'm working to made the video split of OpenMCU a little more managed, in a week or two I'll send the files ;) -- ----- Jogue RPG, alimente o lado criativo!

To all OpenMCU now supports either CIF, 4CIF or 16CIF video mixer. This means if endpoints are about to support HD and large frame sizes then they can send and receive at those frame sizes with the MCU with H.263. By default it is still CIF but you can change the size by altering the frameSize variable in the constructor of the OpenMCU class. Simon

To not spend work in reinventing the wheel I want to know if there are people working in the codecs and PColourConverter classes using the AMD Performance Library. AMD is providing the APL lib in Linux, Windows and Solaris flavours, and they version of GNU GCC 4 for RH and SuSe. (http://developer.amd.com) I'm woking in a project for use in internet2, so I'll 'spend' some time in create of a RAW YVU420 codec, but reading the APL manuals they provide suport for H.264 :). If some have interest or already in the same effort.... If someone already have a RAW codec or already using the APL please can share some hints on sourceforge forums of this project, I'll be pleased. Other question I have is how to add the H.263 video capability in H323Plus, I'm new to the H.323 and openH323 implementation and I am a bit lost with the modifications in H323plus. ** When the work is done I'll ask to put the code or the link it to the internet (it's a project sponsored by the government for a public university so, I think I'll have no problems in sharing the codes produced/modified) -----

Hi Simon I have attached trace file for 4cif transmission with my application running on both sides for debugging. Trace level is set to 5.
