Opal H.264 plugin with OpenMCU and H323plus

Hi, I have taken latest code for ptlib, h323plus, avplugins from h323plus and H.264 plugin from opal. I manged to have video call on OpenMCU with H263. I found it has dependency on specific version of libavcoded, 0.4.7. For H264 I compiled the code and put the .so in $PWLIBPLUGINDIR, also I put libx264 in $LD_LIBRARY_PATH. But somehow H.264 codec is not getting loaded. The libraries are getting linked on start of openmcu but I cant see capabilities being added in OpenMCU traces. Is there any specific version of libx264 needed? I tried with version 78 and 67. Also, H264 requires avcoded too. Is this needed to be built with option --enable-libx264 ? -- Prasad

Openmcu execution issues

Hi, I've compiled openmcu with all the dependencies. When I execute openmcu -xc, I get the following error on termimal 2009/11/03 20:50:10.777 HTTP Service:b7c00a78 Error HTTPS Accept failed: error:14094412:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert bad certificate 2009/11/03 20:50:10.790 HTTP Service:b7c00a78 Error HTTP server creation/open failed. and I am unable to access https://127.0.0.1/1421 with following error on browser. An error occurred during a connection to 127.0.0.1:1421. You have received an invalid certificate. Please contact the server administrator or email correspondent and give them the following information: Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority. Please get a new certificate containing a unique serial number. (Error code: sec_error_reused_issuer_and_serial) Previously I also got some error related to server.pem. I tried to delete the certificates of openmcu from browser properties but that also didn't work. I also tried to enable and disable SSL 3.0 and TSL 1.0 but that also didnt work. I understand that this is some certification related issue but I'm not able to solve it. My openmcu version is 2.2.1, Test machine Fedora 11 and Firefox web browser version 3.5.3. H.263 and H.264 at OpenMCU. Removing capability. Why?

Hi, all. I'm trying to set up an MCU server on SLES11 x64 with latest patches. I've grabbed the latest snapshots of ptlib and opal libraries (from http://opalvoip.svn.sourceforge.net) and latest h323plus and OpenMCU (from http://h323plus.cvs.sourceforge.net) After successful compilation with debug flags and a slight modification of Makefiles to repair "make install", I'a able to launch openmcu. I've tried both with h323plus/plugins and opal/plugins by creating symlinks to their ".so" files in "/usr/local/lib/ptlib" directory. The same result, though many audio codecs from opal are being successfully loaded. The questions are: 1. Why openmcu removes capabilities that were successfuly found? 2. Porting Project for Visual Studio 10 Beta

Hello people Call me crazy but since I'm testing new Visual Studio 10, the awesome C++0x lambda functions, rvalue reference and Parallel Pattern Library, I take the opportunity to see how PTLib and H323plus solutions compile on VS10. The nice news is now Microsoft will separate the compilation from IDE, now solutions/projects are more self-contained for use with MSBuild system (wich comes with Windows SDK), the 1st modification is to use the install-path env-var in the project file itself, like the *NIX flavors of H323plus, ie, the old "Tools->Oprtions->Projects and Solutions-> VC++ Directories" are now in "Project->Properties". Resuming, there is no more needed to hardcode H323Plus and PTLib paths on IDE, paths are now Project properties :) The 'configure' files updated to WindowsSDK v7.0A. Because VS path changing from beta 1 to beta 2 I'll wait until RC or RTM to write back the correct 'configure' file. The basic ptlib compiles fine. ----- Jogue RPG, alimente o lado criativo!

Direct Media (H.460.18/.19/.23/.24) Testing

Guys Over the last few weeks Jan and I have been hard at it testing the Direct Media (no proxy NAT traversal) support in GnuGk and H323plus. We are now relatively confident we have direct media working under most conditions. If you are interested in testing then Gatekeeper then download the latest GnuGk CVS and compile. You can also use the latest H323plus CVS if you want to build a simple endpoint. If you want a quick test under windows. The PacPhone website has the (latest compiled) pacphone client and a windows installer for GnuGK. Remember you may need a STUN server for H.460.23/.24 support. If you have Tandberg or other equipment that supports H.460.18/.19 you may want to try and test also. It would be good if as many people as possible would test the code before the GnuGk 2.3.1 release. Simon

Hello! On the last Friday I decided to upgrade my project’s libraries: pwlib 1.10.0 -> 1.12.0 and openh323 1.18.0 -> h323plus 1.19.7. The project's application is a media-signaling gateway from DSS1 to H.323 protocol using my hardware with DSP for media converting. Help with OpenMCU

Hey, I've been trying to get OpenMCU working, but I've run into some problems. I'm using a trunk build of h323plus, ptlib, and openmcu (though I have tried several versions), on Ubuntu Linux (9.04). I am able to get voice working, but I cannot get video working. I compiled h323plus with all possible video codecs. When I place calls, on the status page, for video it reports a framerate of 0, and codec none/none By using a simple printf, I determined that the function OpenMCUH323Connection::OpenVideoChannel was never called. I made sure the "Enable Video" option was checked on the Parameters page. I have tried calling with a D-Line DVC-2000 i2eye, and a Polycom HDX 8000. Any help would be greatly appreciated. NAT Traversal document

Guys Both GnuGk and H323plus CVS now support Direct Media or H.460.18/.19/.23/.24 in both slow and fast connect. These 4 standards work together to allow media to traverse NAT without requiring the media to be proxied. This greatly increases the scalability of video conferencing systems within NAT environments with only a small proportion of media needing to be proxied. 4CIF support at OpenMCU

Hi all, I finally did the modifications to enable the 4 CIF capability. In my trace, All entries has CIF4 = 2.. But the PVX client are not sending video, the OpenMCU doesn't receive video. I'm sending the modifications. Am I right? if not, What should I have to do? I'm still getting the PColCnv PColourConverter constructed: YUV420P 704x576 -> YUV420P 352x28 at trace. Any help will be appreciated. SVN PTLib 2.7beta1 Compilation

Hello I make a fresh new download from SVN PTLib trunk (2.7beta1) and CVS SimplePlus. The two compiles fine. I only have one question: is P_DIRECTSHOW2 really being compiled? Because there is no vidinput_directx2[.h/.cxx] in VS2008 project/solution (the 2 existis in source and header folders). Even ptbuildops.h.in, when transformed, do not include P_DIRECTSHOW2 definition (greyed by an #IF 0). Hello people Reporting back: * PTLib 2.6 (SVN Trunk): All compile fine and now DirectShow and Application properly works on projects outside PTLib_samples_2008.sln * H323Plus 1.22 (CVS Trunk): H46018_h225.h Error "H46019UDPSocket::GetLocalAddress" makes access to members "m_locAddr" and "m_locPort" but the two members are guarded by macro H323_H46024A and the method not. Solution (?): put "H46019UDPSocket::GetLocalAddress" under H323_H46024A macro guardian like "[Get/Set]AlternateAddresses" ? -- ----- Jogue RPG, alimente o lado criativo!

Folks, Last week, I sent an email to a fairly large number of people wherein I raised an issue: there seems to be a need for a place to go for people to ask questions about signaling protocols, implementation, deployment, and various issues related thereto in the area of videoconferencing. There are various mailing lists and such, but people are scattered all over with no "right place" to go to ask questions. I get a lot of questions directed my way, simply because people do not know where else to ask. We are hosting a number of public mailing lists on Packetizer, some lists are hosted by the IMTC, others at Columbia and Ohio State, etc. Perhaps some of those lists are perfect for engineers or those working on standards, but I've noted that end users, especially, have no place to ask questions. Also, there are lots of questions related to open source projects that get posted to various lists, only because those products happen to use a particular protocol, etc. So, I took a poll asking whether folks would prefer a web-based discussion forum, email list(s), or a "nothing else is needed". Over 50% of those who responded to the poll indicated that they would like to see a discussion forum for VoIP, videoconferencing, and data conferencing discussions. So in response, I set up this site: http://forums.packetizer.com. The structure might not be perfect and since I had to write the ATOM/RSS code myself over the weekend, I will not declare it to be bug free just yet. Nonetheless, the board is running a stable release of phpBB3 and ought to work well. I certainly welcome any comments you have and will try to improve the structure and operation as issues are raised. I do hope you find this useful and I would encourage people with expertise in a particular area to join. I will personally be answering questions, as I have for years, but there are certainly others with better qualifications to answer questions in some areas than me. If anyone is interested in a moderator role on the site, let me know. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask me. Paul

Hello to all. i noticed a point about bug that i send yesterday.i run program plugins 1.21 and then i put dll codecs in path file "D:\MyPhone\SDebug", Video shown to me but source code bug in start channels video. when i don't put dll in path file "D:\MyPhone\SDebug",Video not shown. Hello everybody I just managed get some time to back to H323Plus code. Successfully compiled PTLib, H323Plus, Plugins, OpenMCU and SimplePlus near without modification, only one of plugins come with a PBollean type not found but easy fixed, I'll do the compilation again to confirm wich archive is and report back soon. I'm using a full instalation of Visual Studio 2008 Pro SP1 (embeded Windows SDK 6.0A instaled) For who having problems, put in the enviroment: PWLIB_CONFIGURE_EXCLUDE_DIRS, with the paths: * C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v5.0 * C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\smartdevices\sdk * C:\Program Files\Windows mobile 5.0 SDK r2 This prevents pre-compilation step, Configure.exe, to search for extensions on wrong paths (Atention! if you are compiling for Windows Mobile remember to remove "C:\Program Files\Windows mobile 5.0 SDK r2" from exclusion search path) But I figured a behaviour: VideoTest from PTLib can find and use the WebCam with the "DirectShow" and "*" key search string in getDriversDevices. But SimplePlus not. If you start a new Solution to mimic VideoTest you will get the same bahaviour. Because VideoTest is marked dependency on PTLib on the build tree something getting wrong on projects outside PTLib Solution. I'll investigate, and try search for more clues. Over the past year, I have seen an increase in the number of videoconferencing-related questions. Sometimes these questions are development-related (for which there are appropriate mailing lists), but more often lately I am getting a lot of end-user questions. I get questions like "how do I configure product X to talk to product Y" or "how can I get video working with product X" or "what is the best video camera for use with my software videophone?" I'm also now getting questions about using XMPP for audio and video communication, which is a fairly natural extension of the IM/presence standard. (In case you were not aware, Google Talk is using XMPP and Google worked to define the Jingle extensions that make this possible.) Unfortunately, I am unable to provide good answer to some of these questions, but I know others on these lists are. Collectively, I think we could answer any question sent our direction. And, keeping with the spirit of why Packetizer was created in the first place, I would really like to offer a place for people to go to get the needed answers to their problems. Even you might have some questions and would like to have a place to go ask. That said, you might feel differently. So, before I create an on-line discussion forum or create a mailing list, I would like to get your input. Should I create a discussion forum, mailing list, or neither? Obviously, if I create it, I would want people to register / sign-up to participate, else it would be pointless. If you feel like you would likely never bother with visiting this web site or subscribing to a mailing list, then I'd like to know that: say "neither". But when I download Myphone 0.4 from the h323plus.org site and try to run it (with use of the source of H323plus 1.21 & Ptlib package). I had below errors in Myphone . I’m not sure this is the appropriate list – please feel free to send me somewhere else. I’m a decent and robust IT guy, but new to video conferencing. I’m looking for advice from folks who really know this stuff inside out (that’s you guys.) ;-) I would like to build a solution for the company, where our own private server acts as the relay/gatekeeper/stun/registrar (not sure which terms are technically right) so my Mac / Linux / Windows user clients can all communicate with each other via voice & video (and hopefully chat and file transfer too). From anywhere on the internet. I’m hopeful to have a company addressbook, so admins can add/remove users and users will automatically have that updated, and so on. Basically I want to build a low-cost enterprise video conferencing system. Commercial products are ok, provided they’re not crazy expensive (as some are). I am looking at products like Xmeeting, openMCU, gnugatekeeper, and so on … I must admit some confusion about which ingredients are required, and then, some more confusion about pro/cons of the different varieties of each ingredient. Hi all: I'm trying to migrate an small test project that used OpenH323/PWLIB to H323Plus/PTLib. In that project, I've the following lines of code: H323Capability *h263Cap = new H323_RFC2190_H263Capability(0, 2, 0, 0, 0, videoMaxbandwidth*1024/100/*, FALSE, FALSE, FALSE, FALSE, TRUE, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, TRUE*/); h263Cap->SetCapabilityDirection(H323Capability::e_ReceiveAndTransmit); SetCapability(0, P_MAX_INDEX, h263Cap); I've seen that the class H323_RFC2190_H263Capability does not exists anymore. My question is: what is the new mechanism to specify a max bandwidth for the H.263 capability, in order to be used in codec negotiation? Also, I 've code that looks like this: unsigned int maxBitRate = (((H323_RFC2190_H263Capability*)capability)->GetMaxBitRate()*100)/1024; in the Transmit() method of the H323SenderChannel derived class. Here's what I get when I use the debug version of OpenMCU located in : h323plus_src/applications/openmcu/obj_linux_x86_d You can see that I was able to connect a client and then the second client crashed OpenMCU. The first unit was a polycom vsx-8000 the second was a polycom vs-4000. I would enable core dumps ("ulimit -c unlimited") and then execute the debug version of openmcu right out of the compile directory (./obj_linux_x86_64_d/openmcu ...."). When you then crash openmcu, you can start gdb with "gdb ./obj_linux_x86_64_d/openmcu core" and execute a "bt" command to see where it crashed. opal and h323plus library

hello everybody, I want to know the difference between opal and h323plus in client side. The two libs are all based on ptlib, and I think the two libs have the same function---h323 stack. I have made one window application which is above opal library. And I want to use h323plus lib, and don't change the application interface. OpenMCU - H263 and Connection Problems.

Hi all, I am currently trying to get OpenMCU up and running on Debian 5 but am encountering some issues. Firstly, None of the clients I have tried (Mirial, Evo, Ekiga, Lifesize HD unit, etc) will connect at anything other than H261. I have OPENH323DIR=/usr/local/lib/openh323/ PTLIBPLUGINDIR=/usr/local/lib/opal-3.6.1/ Is there someway to see why the H263 codec is not loading? I have build it in Opal. Do I need to specify it somewhere? Second problem is that, when more than 2 clients join the conference everyone but the last person to join is disconnected from the conference. Hello, I have OpenMCU compiled/installed from the latest cvs. When I get a third client connected, OpenMCU shuts down unexpectedly. It appears to get a shutdown signal from somewhere. I have attached an strace. Let me know if more info is needed. Leandro, Thanks! that resolved the problem with the certificate. And setting the PTLIBPLUGINDIR solved the video problem! I'm so close! But now it's not registering with GNU Gatekeeper. I think it's a password problem. I can see how to 'add' a password with addpasswd but addpasswd is giving me a floating point error. I'm compiling gnugk 2.2.8 now. And I'll let you know what happens. However, when I start the connection, it shows me a "green - all messed up image" and when I try to connect two clients to the same MCU room the process exits display this error message: "Segmentation fault" When I change this setting to use cifMPI resolution only, it runs fine. Hi, Did anyone ever use the h323plus and the simple program in h323plus website to use H.239 function ? I want to share the data content like remote desktop or powerpoint to remote client. I use the simple program to create the extend video session but no work. My running environment is ubuntu Linux 9.04, with ptlib 2.6.1 and h323plus from cvs. Any advice to give to test h.239 ? I've compiled Opal to generate plugins like H.263, H.264, G.722, etc... but when I run OpenMCU, it don't use H.264 codec, it find H.261, H.263 and MPEG4, bu it don't use H.264.... I read that H.264 is aplicated by H.245... I read too tha have a lot persons who added H.264 support in their openMCU, but they don't talk who did that. How can I do that? I really need to know that
