Hi, Is it possible to have DirectShow enabled on native Windows simply by defining P_DIRECTSHOW in ptbuildopts.h? Is it necessary any other work? MPEG4 Video Plugin

Hi I have to write a MPEG4 plugin for h323. Can anyone advise how I should start with it? I have seen the mpeg4 plugin on opal. It uses lot of ffmpeg files which is confusing me. I had tried to compile it but the plugin is giving linking errors for ffmpeg calls. Please help Thanks

Hi, When I said "all works fine", I refered to the loading of plugins, I have not tested Myphone2 with a videocall, so I have not seen the bug on CVideoOutputDevice. BTW, thank you Simon for your help regarding my OCX (MFC) problem. Now, all the plugins are loaded. Anyway, if I can solve the CVideoOutputDevice bug, I will contribute the solution to the community. MFC or ATL. Its important as they behave differently with plugins. The problem is that the default directory for Ptlib when using COM (.ocx) is the desktop. Which is really annoying. In ATL you need to do the following in your H323EndPoint contructor PPluginManager & pluginMgr = PPluginManager::GetPluginManager(); pluginMgr.LoadPluginDirectory(pluginDir); This will load the plugins from that directory. If you are using MFC as with the case of MyPhone2 then there is a little more complicated so look at MyPhone2's CMyPhoneEndPoint() constructor to see how the plugins are loaded. Also you mentioned that you have MyPhone2 working with PtLib. Currently the CVS's MyPhone2 CVideoOutputDevice class is broken and does not display the video output correctly. It's a know problem that I have not yet got around to fixing. A small contribution back to the project on this would be appreciated for the benefit of the community. can't compile pwlib/ptlib 1.12.0

Hi all i'm struck with compile pwlib/ptlib 1.12.0 under VS 2003 (WinXP). Earlier versions of pwlib work great (and i compiled them without problems for years... so i'm quite irritated now), but with 1.12.0, no matter whether i get it from the h323plus website or from the openh323 download page at sourceforge i get problems. Just to make sure i'm not on the completly wrong: In the voxgratia "how to build pwlib" it says there is a project call "Console" in the pwlib.sln. Well, that's not true, there's just a "PWLib static" project which i guess must be the right one to compile. The "Console" project is still in the source but under "ptlib\src\ptlib\msos" as an "old" PTLib.dsp project. Now when compiling the "PWLib static" project, i get a lot of syntax errors. When compiling the "Console" project, the only error is, that "./podbc.cxx" may not be found (in fact it's not at the place the path points to). Now as my first question: which project shall i try to compile? And, is there anything to configure in advance, any options to be set (i added the FelxBison dir to the executable path, same with the PWLib dirs)? Thanks for your help Frank

hi Simon As you suggested I have added H323_H224Capability(). The brief code is H323_H224Capability *p = new H323_H224Capability(); capabilities.Add(p); in a class derived from H323EndPoint. The watch window here doesnot show much. But exe crashes in BOOL H323_H224Channel::Start() at h224Handler->StartTransmit(); I think it is not getting pointer right Can you guide me from there. alam.

PTLib compile errors

Hi, I apologize beforehand if this is not the right list to ask questions on this topic. I had just tried unsuccessfully to compile PTLIB version 1.19.5 as downloaded from the H323+ website. I get 47 errors all on sound_directsound.h and sound_directsound.cx. I'm using MS VS.Net (running as administrator) on Windows Vista. Could someone please point to me what I might be doing wrong? Hi simon I am using H323plus version 1.19.5 and plugins version 1.19.5, both downloaded from h323plus site. Is custom size supported in these versions?? I have one doubt that the H263 plugin is H263+ supported or not. If it is not H263+, I guess it might not support the custom size then. Will the next release be supporting custom image size transmission? Currently my application closes the established video channel after call is connected.If current versions support custom image size , how should I go about it?

Hi Simon I have put H239 work on hold till next release. I have one more problem. I am trying to support 1280 x 720 size video transmission but after call negotiations video channel is getting closed from my side because of some reason. I am using H263 dynamic capability for negotiating with DyLogic Mirial and have set width and heigth to 1280 and 720. I think H263 plugin must support all custom image sizes which are multiple of 4. But the video channel is getting closed after getting opened once. I have not been able to recognise the reason for it. Please help.

Hi all, I have successfully compiled both PTLib and H323Plus on Windows. I've also compiled and tested MyPhone2. All goes fine. But I have another sample app written by myself that is an OCX (which links with PTLib and H323Plus) that manages all the H323 stuff and an EXE that uses the OCX to make a simple videocall. The problem is that my app cannot find the plugin codecs (neither audio nor video). I think that the problem could be related to the fact that I am using an OCX linked with PTLib, instead of an EXE. Is this correct? Is there any solution or workaround?
