Ptlib unix config permissions patch

I found 2 related bugs in Ptlib unix. 1. PFile::SetPermission ignore group and other read permission in the permission parameter When you call SetPermission(path, 0600), the function apply instead 0644. The patch fix the issue by not adding group and other read permission if not set by the caller. 2. PXConfig::WriteToFile change config file owner, group and permissions The function try to perform atomic write by writing to a ".new" file, then renaming the ".new" file to the old file. The new file is created with the current user and group, using the default hardcoded permissions. The patch fix the permissions change by copying the permissions from the old file. The patch does not fix the user and group change.

Master/Slave and SessionIDs

Hi, I am trying to get the h224/h281 data channel to work with Tandberg equipment and ran into some problems. It turns out this has to do with sessionId's. The current implementation lets the connection/endpoint create an h281handler which will handle both in- and outgoing h224 RTP. The problem is that my H323Endpoint will usually begin with opening the logical channel and assigns DefaultH224SessionID = 4 as sessionID. Later on the Tandberg endpoint wants to open a channel but then with sessionId 3! This results in the construction of a new RTP_Session which will never be used (cause the h281handler is allready constructed and has its RTP_Session set). Can anybody tell me what the "right" way would be to solve this problem? Should the incoming and outgoing h224 channels have the same sessionID? My current solution is to change DefaultH224SessionID to 3 but this will probably result into problems when more data channels need to be openend... Thanks, Niek

Problem transmitting different image sizes

Hi I have developed an application using H323Plus Library which allows a user to change to different codecs(H.261 & H.263) or different Image Sizes(QCIF, CIF, 4CIF & 16CIF) before making a call. Though, all the combinations(minus 16CIF) used to work well with OpenH323. The application somehow shows an unpredictable behaviour with H323Plus. By the term unpredictable I mean that using same code, same settings and same plugins, while one machine loads H.261 codec the other loads H.263. Sometimes the application would not even send the data to remote site(showing the frame rate of 0, probably coz of wrong negotiation or so). How can we put H.263 priority above H.261 for codec selection. We are using same code both sides but codec negotiation are different.We are using Reorder API of H323plus api. We have been investigating it thoroughly from past few days but in vain. So Please if anybody can throw light on this, it would be of great help. Thanks

Grouping frames

Hi All, Nice to begin here. Some years ago, i saw a software called CallGen to make calls using the h323 protocol with the possibility of grouping frames if using the G.711 codecs. The CallGen323 was compiled over the openh323 library and I've been informed that grouping was provided by the openh323. My doubts are: The grouping frame feature is still working nowadays ? If yes, only the G.711 vocoder is accepted by the feature ?? Lots of thanks. JL

Codec Selection in H.239 Extended Video channel

Hi everyone I was trying to make a call using H.261 codec and then I opened ExtendedVideoSession. The session opens and closes immediately. I guess it is because the call was established using H.261 codec so it returns from the library, Does anyone have any idea about these. >>Is H.261 plug in supporting extended session or not? >> Does Extended session use the same codec as selected for main video channel or it can use a different codec. Codecs plugin problem

Hi there. Currently i'm trying to make an ActiveX wrapper for h323plus. The problem is: it cannot load any codec dlls. I've set path direcories, put codecs in the same dir as activeX etc. Nothing works. So maybe anyone has the same issue and solved it? Ptlib build for windows mobile

Hi, all I have downloaded a copy of ptlib-v2_0_1-src.zip, and open the solution ptlib_2005.sln in visual studio 2005. I managed to build successfully with Win32 configuration. However the build is skipped when I changed Windows Mobile 5 or Windows Mobile 6 configuration. Is there any chance that any of us know the solution for this problem? Hi What is the standard way to switch a point-to-point conference to multi-party conference? (The condition is that the codec used in multi-party conference is not same as that in point-to-point call, for example, when in p2p call the endpoint communicate using H.264, and in multi-party confernce they use H.263 codec ) The SONY PCS endpoint's method is that the ep close all logical channels and re-issue capability, then re-open logical channel. Problem connecting with Polycom VSX 7000

Hi Has anyone ever tried t connect to Polycom VSX 7000 using H323+. I am trying to do it with both H.261 and H.263. It works fine with H.261 but with H.263 no image is displayed on Polycom side. The call statistics of Polycom show frame rate of 25 but video is blank. i guess there might be some problem with H.263 plugin. Polycom and my machine are on the same LAN. Does anyone have any idea about this problem? please help.

How to know about the remote sides H.239 capabilities?

Hi Does anyone have any idea about how to know whether the remote side with which connection has been established supports H.239 or not. R Right now I try to open an extended session and check its return value. Is there any call in H323Plus which returns the H.239 capability status of remote side.Since we have already exchanged the capabilities, this information must be available somewhere. Please help!!

Hi all , I have a requirement to support MWI in my device, which has support to both SIP and H.323. I see that there is H.450.7 Supplementary Service for that in H.323. But i am not sure practically it is being used in normal deployments. I am trying to find if Asterisk or any other opensource PBX support it.From my analysis i see that Asterisk does have support to MWI for SIP . But could not find out how is the notification done for H.323. Does anybody here have any idea how is it done for H.323 endpoints ? Hi , I need an opens source or freeware server that can provide Voice Mail ,Conferencing and Mobility functionalities to H.323 and a SIP endpoints. Is Asterisk the only option or are there any other such servers available for testing ? Kindly do provide your valuable suggestions .Awaiting an earliest response. Regards, Anisha
