Hi Guys Many thanks for your fast response, I done your guide in running package. I run Ptlib 2.4.5 with your rule and produce ptlibs.lib. I’m not sure this is the appropriate list – please feel free to send me somewhere else. I’m a decent and robust IT guy, but new to video conferencing. I’m looking for advice from folks who really know this stuff inside out (that’s you guys.) ;-) I would like to build a solution for the company, where our own private server acts as the relay/gatekeeper/stun/registrar (not sure which terms are technically right) so my Mac / Linux / Windows user clients can all communicate with each other via voice & video (and hopefully chat and file transfer too). From anywhere on the internet. I’m hopeful to have a company addressbook, so admins can add/remove users and users will automatically have that updated, and so on. Basically I want to build a low-cost enterprise video conferencing system. Commercial products are ok, provided they’re not crazy expensive (as some are). I am looking at products like Xmeeting, openMCU, gnugatekeeper, and so on … I must admit some confusion about which ingredients are required, and then, some more confusion about pro/cons of the different varieties of each ingredient. Any advice would be appreciated… Thank you…

I have built a sample windows installer for GnuGk and MyPhone (CVS version) for demonstration purposes. Hi all: I'm trying to migrate an small test project that used OpenH323/PWLIB to H323Plus/PTLib. In that project, I've the following lines of code: H323Capability *h263Cap = new H323_RFC2190_H263Capability(0, 2, 0, 0, 0, videoMaxbandwidth*1024/100/*, FALSE, FALSE, FALSE, FALSE, TRUE, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, TRUE*/); h263Cap->SetCapabilityDirection(H323Capability::e_ReceiveAndTransmit); SetCapability(0, P_MAX_INDEX, h263Cap); I've seen that the class H323_RFC2190_H263Capability does not exists anymore. My question is: what is the new mechanism to specify a max bandwidth for the H.263 capability, in order to be used in codec negotiation? Also, I 've code that looks like this: unsigned int maxBitRate = (((H323_RFC2190_H263Capability*)capability)->GetMaxBitRate()*100)/1024; in the Transmit() method of the H323SenderChannel derived class. Is there any way of getting the negotiated MaxBitRate for the H263 codec? Thank you in advance,

Hi Sir. We copy the Dll files ( h261 and h263 ) in the MyPhone program root, then the execution file is run correctly. But when we trace th my phone program, we have a problem in "PVideoInputDevice_VideoForWindows::Open" method, When run this method with trace line by line and we recived to "threadStarted.Wait();" and in this function when recive to "WaitForSingleObjectEx(handle, INFINITE,AssResult);" it show a memory error; I attached a picture of this error and thread status. Here's what I get when I use the debug version of OpenMCU located in : h323plus_src/applications/openmcu/obj_linux_x86_d You can see that I was able to connect a client and then the second client crashed OpenMCU. The first unit was a polycom vsx-8000 the second was a polycom vs-4000. I would enable core dumps ("ulimit -c unlimited") and then execute the debug version of openmcu right out of the compile directory (./obj_linux_x86_64_d/openmcu ...."). When you then crash openmcu, you can start gdb with "gdb ./obj_linux_x86_64_d/openmcu core" and execute a "bt" command to see where it crashed. Jan, I'm not sure I did this right. I went to the ptlib-2.6.2 directory and executed: make debug make install That all went fine. Then I moved to the openmcu directory and executed: make debug make install That all appears to work fine. opal and h323plus library

hello everybody, I want to know the difference between opal and h323plus in client side. The two libs are all based on ptlib, and I think the two libs have the same function---h323 stack. I have made one window application which is above opal library. And I want to use h323plus lib, and don't change the application interface. Is there any difference between the application interfaces of opal and h323plus. Thanks. The question is very urgent to me. I'll appreciate your answers. And Please give me some valuable advice. OpenMCU - H263 and Connection Problems.

Hi all, I am currently trying to get OpenMCU up and running on Debian 5 but am encountering some issues. Firstly, None of the clients I have tried (Mirial, Evo, Ekiga, Lifesize HD unit, etc) will connect at anything other than H261. I have OPENH323DIR=/usr/local/lib/openh323/ PTLIBPLUGINDIR=/usr/local/lib/opal-3.6.1/ Is there someway to see why the H263 codec is not loading? I have build it in Opal. Do I need to specify it somewhere? Second problem is that, when more than 2 clients join the conference everyone but the last person to join is disconnected from the conference. Leandro, Thanks! that resolved the problem with the certificate. And setting the PTLIBPLUGINDIR solved the video problem! I'm so close! But now it's not registering with GNU Gatekeeper. I think it's a password problem. I can see how to 'add' a password with addpasswd but addpasswd is giving me a floating point error. I'm compiling gnugk 2.2.8 now. And I'll let you know what happens. I've seen that it is possible to force openMCU to use 4CIF resolution by modifying the framesize parameter in mcu.cxx. So, I forced the value to 4cifMPI. However, when I start the connection, it shows me a "green - all messed up image" and when I try to connect two clients to the same MCU room the process exits display this error message: "Segmentation fault" When I change this setting to use cifMPI resolution only, it runs fine. Hi, Did anyone ever use the h323plus and the simple program in h323plus website to use H.239 function ? I want to share the data content like remote desktop or powerpoint to remote client. I use the simple program to create the extend video session but no work. My running environment is ubuntu Linux 9.04, with ptlib 2.6.1 and h323plus from cvs. Any advice to give to test h.239 ?
