As you may know, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) have been promoting implementation of Common Alerting Protocol (CAP, Recommendation ITU-T X.1303) as the foundation standard for all-hazards, all-media alerting.
Another CAP Implementation Workshop is being planned for 6-7 April 2011 at WMO in Geneva. This Workshop will be a discussion forum among CAP implementers, CAP technology providers, and other organizations with an interest in emergency alerting. A provisional agenda and other details of the Workshop will be updated at the online Web page http://www.wmo.int/pages/prog/www/ISS/Meetings/WIS- CAP_Geneva2011/DocPlan.html (Notes from two previous CAP Implementors Workshops are at http://www.wmo.int/pages/prog/www/ISS/Meetings/WIS- CAP_Geneva2009/DocPlan.html http://www.wmo.int/pages/prog/www/ISS/Meetings/WIS- CAP_Geneva2008/DocPlan.html )
I hope that you will consider participating in this Workshop. If so, please let me know of any CAP-related topics you feel are critical to be addressed. Also let me know if you want to speak on a particular CAP implementation topic, or if you want to provide a poster or a side demonstration.
Please forward this note to other persons and mailing lists relevant to public alerting for emergencies.
Thanks,
Eliot
