LogicalChannelRateRelease

Srini,

Although there is no procedure defined in the the back of H.245 for
LogChanRate, as there are for other dialogues, such as OpenLogChan and
CloseLogChan, use them as a model. The release message basically tells the
remote EP to forget about any request it may have received previously.

Here's how it goes. One sends LogChanRateReq and starts a timer (use the
other procedures as a guide for timer values, I suppose). When a response is
received for it, one kills the timer; if a response is not received before
the the timer "times out," one sends LogChanRateRelease to tell the remote
EP that if it received the previous request, it should now ignore it.

Subject: LogicalChannelRateRelease

Hi All,

H.245V5 introduces new logical channel bit rate change messages. One
of the message is LogicalChannelRateRelease. The section B.1.2.4 says
the following.

        B.1.2.4 Logical Channel Rate Release
This is sent in the case of a timeout.

My question is which timer should be used for the above indicated
purpose? There are no new timers added to H.245V5.

thanks,
Srini
