I read on a forum that Polycom uses the i263 codec library. It also said that it uses the YUY2( YUV422 ) color space model. I have been trying to convert the decoded YUV422 stream into the YUV420P stream via ptlib but I am having troubles with the YUY2toYUV420PSameSize function in vconvert.cxx crashing during the first execution. Do you have any thoughts on this?

BitRate and FrameRate reversed in PacPhone? That a display 
issue. Well I better fix that. :-)
 
The 
issue is in the ffmpeg decoder library. From past discussions it a setting issue 
in the library however the person who found the issue never contributed it back 
to the project. A contribution to fix the issue from anyone would be 
very most welcomed.

I  tried using PacPhone v2.0.5 but I couldn't connect to openMCU. I also found  that in the Video settings the bitrate and framerate configurations are  reversed. Also, I am using an analog HD camera through a usb capture card that  supports up to 4CIF but I could only transmit QCIF or VGA.

Do you think  the error with PVX and OpenMCU is in the ffmpeg decoder, an un-expected  header, or some other reason?

There are known outstanding issues with h323plus H.263 and  Polycom PVX and VS7000. 
If  anyone can assist in resolving these issues, a contribution would be greatly  appreciated. 
 
You can try using PacPhone it supports 4CIF  and is built off h323plus.

I am currently using the newest versions (as of July 2, 2008) of  ptlib(2.3.0), h323plus(1.20.5) and openmcu(2.2.4) from cvs on Ubuntu 8.04. I  installed the plugins correctly and openmcu runs fine. However when using  two polycom pvx clients to connect to openmcu using H.263 at 4CIF for both  transmitting and receiving, the video is blocky and very distorted. There is  no packet loss, the bitrate is set to 1920 kbps and the frame rate is a  constant 30 fps for both transmitting and receiving. I was wondering if the  problem is with openmcu or the pvx clients. Has anyone successfully used  4CIF resolution to be clear and smooth? Also, I had to massage the h.263  plugin code to get 4CIF to work with openmcu. Any help would greatly be  appreciated.
