Dear Q1 experts,
The subject meeting of ITU-T SG16 experts will be held in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA at the kind invitation of Cisco Systems. Details of the meeting are contained herein.
Please note that Q2, 3, 4, 5, 12, 21, 22, 24, 25 and 27/16 will meet concurrently at the same place and that many sessions will be joint with Q1/16.
1. Date ^^^^^^^
1 (Wednesday) - 2 (Thursday) December 2010 Meeting will start at 9:30 AM on the first day Closing around 18:00 on the final day
2. Venue ^^^^^^^^
The meeting will be held in Building 5 on Cisco Systems campus in Research Triangle Park (RTP). The address to the campus is:
Cisco Systems, Inc. 7025 Kit Creek Rd. Research Triangle Park, NC 27502 USA
Note that the campus address may sometimes appear as Morrisville, rather than Research Triangle Park. Research Triangle Park is an area of land that touches a number of cities/towns, including Durham and Morrisville.

Please avoid the use of reflector when your document is voluminous.

6) The document distribution / presentation at the meeting will be all electronic. Participants must bring along a laptop with a wireless network interface in order to access the documents.
5. Logistic information ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The meeting will be hosted by Cisco Systems at its campus in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA.
Research Triangle Park is 28 sq km area of land set aside to foster growth and development of technology companies in North Carolina. There are approximately 170 companies with offices in the park. For more information about the park, visit http://www.rtp.org/.
No hotels have been reserved for this meeting, though there are a number near the Cisco campus as discussed in Section 7. The airport nearest the Cisco campus is the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), located about 15 minutes by taxi from the campus. Taxi service is available from the airport by RDU Taxi, Inc. (www.rdutaxiinc.com). Rates are based on distance, with cost to the hotels listed below between US$9 and US$15.
Note that RDU Taxi provides service only to and from the airport. There are other area taxi services, including: http://www.appletransport.net/ http://affordable-transport-service.com/ http://www.rdutaxicabservice.com/
Those who expect to travel frequently might also wish to consider renting a car. A number of popular rental car companies are located at the RDU Airport, including Alamo, Avis, Enterprise, Budget, Hertz, National, and Thrifty.
Several hotels reportedly provide a free shuttle service to and from the Cisco campus, including Homewood Suites, Marriott, Sheraton, Hilton, and Radisson. Please verify this information directly with your hotel if you need shuttle service.
There is also a public bus service for getting around the RTP area. For information on public bus service, visit http://www.triangletransit.org/
There are a number of places to eat scattered around the park, with a high concentration of restuarants at the intersection of Highway 54 and Highway 55. Here's a link that will show those on Google Maps: http://flq.us/WN.

We would remind you that citizens of some countries are required to obtain a visa in order to enter and spend time in the United States. The visa must be requested and obtained from the office (embassy or consulate) representing the United States in your country. Participants who need an invitation letter for visas should contact Mr Paul Jones, providing the family name, first name, and other identifying information required by the US embassy in your country. Visa processing times vary from country to country, check with the US embassy or consulate that applies to you.
Early registration of your attendance is welcome and encouraged, but preferably before 18 Oct. 2010 to ensure adequate meeting space is available.
