The IESG has approved the following document: * 'RTP payload format for a 64 kbit/s transparent call ' <draft-ietf-avt-rtp-clearmode-05.txt> as a Proposed Standard This document is the product of the Audio/Video Transport Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Allison Mankin and Jon Peterson. Technical Summary This RTP payload format is useful in VoIP gateways to encapsulate the clear channel mode of ISDN. Working Group Summary ' There was strong support within the AVT working group for this payload. It was a clear design choice to make a single payload for the 64 kbps ISDN clear channel, and not to solve the nx64 channel designs with the same payload format. Protocol Quality Payload formats similar to this, protyping the ideas, have been in the field for some time. The document was reviewed for the IESG by Allison Mankin.
