CALL
FOR PAPERS
2nd International Workshop on IPTV
Technologies and Multidisciplinary Applications (IWITMA
2010)
IEEE ICME 2010 - Satellite Workshop
July 19-23, 2010,
Singapore
Website - http://imde.cio.umh.es/iwitma2010.html
Scope and Topics
The 2nd International
Workshop on IPTV Technologies and Multidisciplinary Applications (IWITMA 2010)
will be a one-day event focusing on recent advances in IPTV technology and
applications. IWITMA 2010 will be held in conjunction with the IEEE
International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME 2010) in order to profit
from the attendance at IEEE ICME as well as providing this group with recents
advances in video that will impact the networks of the future.
The
workshop will present innovative technical papers on all aspects of IPTV and
converged applications delivery as well as on novel approaches video
transmission and network architectures for video. In addition to these papers
the workshop intends to have ample time for discussion amongst participants on
topics randing from industry trends to actual and future
implementation.
The workshop seeks innovative technical papers on all
aspects of IPTV in multimedia broadcasting, including architectural
standardization, content protection, quality of service and quality of
experience, middleware, etc.
The following IPTV related topics are
included as to attract attendance from both academia and industry:
•
Architectures for IPTV systems especially those targeting multiscreens and
combining mobility
• IPTV Service deployments, interactivity, Social TV,
datacasting
• IPTV QoS issues (including performance, traffic management and
monitoring, etc.)
• IPTV user experience and user experience design
•
Video Content Distribution Networks for distributed IPTV services
• Mobile
IPTV (system deployment, mobile extension considerations, etc.)
•
Transmission aspects including video compression and network coding
• User
devices and home networking
• Content protection and rights management
•
Network design impacts of video convergence
• Software platforms and
middleware for next generation IPTV
• Business, pricing and billing models
for evolving IPTV services
• Mathematical and analytical models for IPTV
networks
• IPTV content consumption measurement, congestion control, rate
control
• IPTV test beds and field trials for multimedia broadcasting
applications
• IPTV processing, video coding and
processing
Additionally, the workshop plans to bring a distinguished
invited speaker to talk on “IPTV in Industry” and especially in emerging IPTV
markets, i.e., to discuss original contributions from various industry IPTV
domains (e.g.consumer electronics, broadcasters, producers, broadband companies,
software and hardware developers, telecom operators). The objective will be
discussing evidences of issues regarding IPTV technologies’ dealing with
industry cases in the above areas of interest.
