Hi Glen,
I have few questions related to alternate endpoint info sent in RAS messages.
1. What is the semantic of use of Alternate endpoint info? As it is mentioned in section 7.2.2 of H.323, "an endpoint may indicate a backup, redundant or alternate transport address using the *alternateEndpoint* structure within the RAS messages. This allows an endpoint to have a secondary network interface or a secondary H.323 endpoint as a backup". But, when a list of call signalling addresses, ras addresses and aliases can be specified without even specifying alternate endpoint, what is the requirement of alternateEndpoint field?
2. What is the significance of remoteExtensionAddress and destExtensionCallInfo fields in endpoint sequence? Why these fields are not in the core RRQ message and are part of alternateEndpoints?
With regards, Sunil
